Our Easter festivities started on Thursday with all the school parties. G had his in the morning and because we had just had some heavy rain, they opted for an indoor hunt. The parents hid the eggs while the kids walked around outside for a bit. Then they all gathered in the hall for a quick picture for the moms.
Their egg hunt lasted approximately .09 seconds. Haha!
Later that afternoon, I went to C’s class party. They were allowed to do their egg hunt outside.
Their egg hunt took slightly longer because their eggs were numbered 1-12 and they were only allowed to collect one of each. C quickly gather up all his eggs and while some of the others were still looking for the numbers they needed, he was busy switching out his small eggs for larger eggs. Smart kid! 😉
Afterwards we went to his classroom for an ice cream party!
The remainder of the day on Thursday, I was busy preparing for an annual Good Friday bake sale for Faith Lutheran High School. I always head the bake sale and while overall it is a pretty easy fundraiser, the 24 hours prior to the sale are kinda crazy. I’m receiving donated bake goods, posting pictures, taking pre-sale order requests, and baking! And I know what you are thinkg… It’s a bake sale, big deal. Well this isn’t your typical bake sale. It is like the granddaddy of bake sales! We have hundreds of items donated and end up raising more thank $5K each year! It’s a pretty big deal and has become quite popular in our little community. This year I requested that someone else actually work the sale since Jeff typically has to see a few patients on Good Friday morning and I now have to two extra littles. So after I setup everything, the kids and I headed to Austin to do some errands and also to see the movie Dumbo!
This one of G cracks me up! So relaxed… Haha!
This year our Easter bunny came a day early. In years past, Sunday mornings have always been hectic with getting everyone ready for church. C & G were the first ones up and excited to see their baskets but G’s face immediately fell when he realized the Easter bunny had already left and he missed him. Sweet boy… C quickly gathered up all the eggs and put them in his basket and when I mentioned to him that he might want to save some eggs for the girls, he very kindly emptied the candy out of the eggs into his basket and then put the empty eggs in their baskets. Haha!
Saturday we celebrated with my mom’s side of the family in Round Top. The weather was absolutely beautiful!
Sunday morning before church, I quickly had everyone stand outside for a few pics. I used that tripod for my iPhone again and just attached it to a chair on my sidewalk. It works so well!
After church we headed to Jeff’s Aunts for her annual Easter celebration.
His aunt always hides a special golden egg and a goose egg. Wouldn’t you know G found the golden egg and C found the goose egg! (Ok, so they might have had a little help… Haha!)
She also buys hundreds of cascarones for the kids to crack on each other!
We all know it is basically impossible to get this many kids to all look at the camera and smile at the same time… This was the best we got… Haha!
It was a fun-filled Easter weekend!
